CASING, TUBING AND DRILLING PIPES

CASING, TUBING AND DRILLING PIPES

Casing, Tubing and Drilling pipes that are used to extract Petrol, Natural gas, Hot water and Steam stored underground through drilling are produced according to API standards. These pipes that have been produced with the best quality materials by the best possible technical manner can be used underground for many years and can be used for any sectors in relation to Energy production.

Types of OCTG Drilling Pipes:

CASING, API 5CT/ ISO 11960

Casing is a large-scaled pipe that is placed and assembled in a well that has been newly drilled and generally is fixed with cement in its place. Casing fixing procedures that are cemented in position are supported in the following ways:

  • Prevents freshwater contamination
  • Prevents large hollows or unstable top formations to cave in and sticking to the drilling system.
  • Provides a stronger top foundation in order to use high intensity drilling fluid to drill deeper
  • Isolates different zones that consist of different pressures and fluids as a result of zone isolation in structures that have been fixed.
  • Keeps the risk of explosion far away by closing high-pressure areas and isolating them.
  • Prevents fluid loss and contamination in production areas.
  • Provides an inner hole to place the production equipment.

TUBING, API 5CT/ ISO 11960

Tubing makes a pipe string that carry the petrol, natural gas or hot water that is produced underground to the surface facilities in order to be processed. Tubing needs to be strong enough in order to come against loads and deformations that come into existence during production and working stages. In addition, tubing must be as large so as to increase the expected petrol and gas production quantity. With this, large scaled pipes can have an impact on economy in addition to the pipe system costs because the scale of the pipe will affect the shell design.

DRILL PIPES/ API 5DP

The Drill pipe is stronger and lighter in comparison with casing and tubing pipes. The drilling team attaches the drill pipe to the top driver or the cornered Kelly. Generally as the drilling pipe revolves it digs the earth underground by bits enclosed to the front end. Each section of the pipe is referred to as a connection. The drilling team screws the pieces together or creates various connections and the drill string is placed in the hole. Drill pipes, Casing and Tubing pipes can be determined according to their features: Diameter, Steel Quality or Endurance, Weight, Length. The chosen diameter, weight and endurance are based on the dimensions of the hole, depth of the well and features of the well.

CASING ACCESSORIES

These materials are certain appliances that are attached to and used with casing systems. The most common Casing accessory is Guide and float shoes, float collars, centralizers and cement baskets. More reinforcements can include some progressive cementing collars and other special equipment in order to ensure the attachment to the casing system and provide the cement.
